“Yacht of the Year 2012” Winner
Cruising version (with a kickback hidraulic
lifting keel) of the well known ocean racer Pogo 40
boat of the year 2011. Innovative boat witch is
becoming a new fashion. The dream of many european sailors. The
designer (Finot Conq) melted together a racer with a complete ocean
racing equipment with a comfortable cruiser that can anchor in
shallow waters.
The interior and exterior spaces are huge
compared to other boats because of the 4.5 m beam of the class 40.
The typical “rough” interior design of a racing boat have been
enriched of details that make her a trendy cruiser that can compete
with much more expensive yachts sailing in Ibiza or in the Caribbean.
In this unit in particular the interior where
upgraded by the owner an italian architect inspired by the racing
sailboats interiors. Wardrobes were custom designed by utils oceans.
a factory that works with ocean racers, galley and saloon where
modified by the owner himself witch is professional in racing boat
construction and preparation to obtain a more warm general feeling
and wide alcoves where lay down and relax.
The boat is light (but more strong than the
racing version) and fast (faster of all the other cruiser of her
size) . She can be prepared for racing or used as a super fast
cruiser that will start moving with nearly no wind.
Exciting and at the same time very easy to
handle. With a simplified deck layout she can be sailed solo reaching
speeds that other boat will never allow. The Nke autopilot installed
on most of the French ocean racers and an onboard computer let you
sail the boat by night at over 15 knots of speed lying down in front
of a computer screen in a comfortable double place berth. Alarms will
wake you up when needed. Adrena routing software will provide the
fastest route mixing grib meteo files, the boat polar curves and
other datas.
the Pogos usually comes out from the yard with
a bit “rough” finishing typical of the racers.
In this unit many of small details have been
ameliorated. The mast have been painted to ensure a very long lasting
that a black carbon mast will never guarantee in mediterranean and
other sunny places. Runner carbon fittings have been built and can be
used if the boat has to race “hard”
the mast refitting was done by Longitud Cero
composites builder of the Quantum Tp 52 and of some of the fastest
racer in the world.
Her
name is “Chinchon” the name of an old fashion spanish an
anise-flavored liqueur
produced in a traditional village on the hills of Madrid
